Privacy Policy

Your privacy is not an add-on for us — it is a foundation Zedgram was designed on. This policy explains, in plain language rather than contract-speak, what data we collect about you and why, how we protect it, with whom we share it and when, and what rights you have over it. It addresses published authors, account holders and visiting readers alike: the rules are the same and so is the trust.

Last updated: November 5, 2026 Applies to the website, the app and all services

01 Introduction & Our Commitment

This policy covers how Zedgram processes the personal data of everyone using the website and the app: visitors, registered readers and publishers. It is a companion document to the Terms & Conditions and should be read together with them. Our central commitment fits in three phrases: we collect little, we use it transparently, and we never sell it.

The platform was designed from day one on data minimization: we do not build advertising profiles about you and we do not trade in your data — everything we collect is tied to a purpose you can find on this page. Wherever a technical concept needs explaining — cookies, for instance — we explain it in everyday language before the technical one.

02 The Data We Collect

We collect only three categories of data, each tied to a declared purpose:

  • Account data when you register: your display name, email address, an encrypted password, and a profile picture if you add one. This is your identity on the platform.
  • Usage data your interaction with the platform: the posts you read, save or react to, whom you follow, and your wallet purchases of paid content. This data builds your experience: your feed and your reading list.
  • Technical data data the service and its security need: browser and device type, language and preference data (like the cookie remembering your chosen language), and your IP address when security requires it — to prevent abuse and attacks — not to track you permanently.
Visitors too. If you never register, we collect even less about you: your language and light/dark preference, and aggregate usage statistics that do not identify you personally.

03 How We Use Your Data

We use your data within a narrow scope that never exceeds the following purposes:

  • Running the service: creating your account and sessions, storing your content and preferences, and executing purchases and sales of paid content.
  • Personalizing your experience: showing content in your chosen language and display mode, and powering your reading list.
  • Security and abuse prevention: detecting fake accounts, spam and intrusion attempts, and enforcing the content policies.
  • Necessary communication: notices about your account — security updates and support replies — not marketing you did not ask for.
  • Improving the platform: an aggregate understanding of which formats and features are used most, in a form that does not identify you.

We do not use your data for anything else — we build no advertising profiles and give no outside party your data for its own purposes.

04 Cookies

Cookies are small text files your browser stores to remember information between visits. On Zedgram they serve four declared functions:

  • Essential cookies managing and protecting your login session; they cannot be disabled without breaking the service itself.
  • Preference cookies remembering your chosen language and display mode (light/dark) on your device, so you find the platform as you left it.
  • Analytics cookies helping us understand overall usage statistically — which pages are most visited and which features most used.
  • Advertising cookies used by ad networks — including Google — to serve and measure ads; detailed in the next section.

You can control cookies from your browser settings: block them all, delete them, or block specific third parties. Disabling essential cookies may break sign-in and registration, while preference cookies disable nothing — you will simply choose your language again.

05 Advertising & the Google Disclosure

We serve ads on the platform through external advertising networks, foremost Google. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to our site and/or other sites on the Internet.

You may opt out of personalized advertising and manage your advertising interests through Google Ads Settings (adssettings.google.com), and you can disable third-party cookies in your browser entirely, as described in the previous section.

Extra transparency. We do not share personally identifying data with advertisers, and once third-party cookies are set we do not control them — each ad network is governed by its own policy, with links available inside your browser's tools.

06 Third-Party Services

We rely on trusted service providers to run the platform, limited to what each function needs:

  • Licensed payment processors: executing wallet top-ups, paid-content purchases and publisher payout withdrawals.
  • Hosting and cloud storage services: storing content and encrypted-in-transit backups.
  • Email services: verification messages and the necessary notices related to your account.
  • Analytics services: aggregate statistics about the platform's performance.

Each of these parties operates under contracts that impose confidentiality on your data and bar its use for anything beyond performing the requested service, and each has its own privacy policy you can consult. No third party gets access to your data beyond these specific purposes.

07 Paid Content & Financial Data

When you top up your wallet or buy paid content, the card or financial account data is processed entirely by a licensed, accredited payment processor — we never see and never store your full card numbers or banking credentials on our servers. What we keep is the transaction record: its amount, date, a reference number and the purchased content's identifier — so your permanent access to what you bought is guaranteed.

For publishers: we keep a record of your earnings, transactions and the payout details required to execute payments and meet accounting obligations, treated with full banking confidentiality.

08 When Do We Share Your Data?

Our standing rule: we never sell your data

We will never sell, rent out or trade your personal data with anyone — not advertisers, not brokers, not data agencies. Sharing is confined to the following cases only, at the narrowest scope each case requires:

  • The service providers named in Section 6, under confidentiality contracts and only to perform their function.
  • Legal obligation: a court order or an official request from a competent authority under the law.
  • Protecting rights: handling intellectual-property infringement notices and preventing fraud.
  • Platform integrity: protecting our users and systems from abuse and attacks.

09 Protecting Your Data

We take appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including:

  • Full transport encryption over HTTPS/TLS between you and the platform.
  • Passwords stored with irreversible hashing — we do not know your password and cannot find it out.
  • Internal access restrictions: database access only where the job role requires it, with sensitive access logged.
  • Regular backups and incident-response plans, reviewed and updated periodically.

That said, no technical system is one hundred percent impenetrable; we therefore commit to responsible disclosure and the fastest possible handling of any incident that affects your data.

10 Your Rights Over Your Data

Your data is yours, and you have rights over it that we practice with you without complication — through your account settings or the contact page:

1
Access

Requesting a copy of the personal data we hold about you.

2
Correction

Fixing inaccurate data or completing what is missing, at any time.

3
Deletion

Requesting the deletion of your account and data; whatever the law does not require us to keep is deleted within a reasonable period.

4
Objection & control

Turning off personalization or objecting to specific processing, and managing your language, display and notification preferences from your settings.

11 Publishers & Their Data

Publishers have a special standing that deserves clarification. We process publisher data — account, usage and earnings — for the same declared purposes in this policy, plus:

  • Audience statistics: we show you aggregate figures of your content's views, interactions and purchases, without exposing viewers' identities to anyone or to each other.
  • Earnings data: a record of your financial transactions we are bound to keep to guarantee your rights and execute payouts.
  • Your audience's privacy: we never give publishers data identifying readers or buyers — such as email addresses or identities — beyond what readers voluntarily display as their public names and comments.

12 Children's Privacy

The platform is not directed at anyone under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If we discover an account belonging to a user below that age — or believe we do — we delete it and its data immediately and without delay. Parents and guardians who notice such an account can report it via the contact page and we will act at once.

13 Data Retention

We keep your data for as long as your account is active, then for the additional period required by legal and accounting obligations — such as mandatory financial records — after which it is deleted or anonymized in a form that no longer identifies you. When you request account deletion, we remove the data within a reasonable period, except what the law requires us to retain (Section 10).

14 International Data Transfers

Your data may be processed through servers or services located outside your country — cloud services cross borders by nature. When that happens, we apply the same protections described in this policy and choose providers offering adequate protection under contracts and lawful transfer mechanisms.

15 Policy Changes & Last Updated

We may update this policy as the platform evolves or legal requirements change. We publish the updated version here with a refreshed "Last updated" date at the top of the page, and highlight material changes inside the platform. Your continued use after an update means you have noted it.

The last update of this policy: November 5, 2026.
